Over the summer semester of 2006 I got a huge opportunity to intern. for
105.7 The Point. Your probably wondering how I decided to get into this sort of business. Well I have always been an enormous music fan ever since my dad started having me listen to classic rock and rock. I love that type of music and have always wanted to be somewhat apart of it. So finally, when needing to have an internship credit for school, I thought it would be pretty neat if I could try and get a chance with The Point. So shoot, I just sent in my resume and a letter and waited for a response. I didn't get back a response as quick as I was hoping, so I sent an e-mail out of concern and right away I got a response. After that a date for an interview was made. I had an interview that went great. All there was to do was just be yourself and tell them how you could be with their company and there you go. All there was to do next was wait for a phone call. Soon enough, I had a voicemail on my cell phone asking me to call back the promotions coordinator and I called back as soon as possible and I was shocked... I got the intern. position. I have got to say that internship was the best opportunity that anyone could have gotten. I met some amazing people and worked with a batch of great people and learned so much and got the chance of a lifetime. The internship called for 10 interns. What we were to do was to go to events and be there to set up and promote for the station. It doesn't sound like we would do so much, but actually we did. We sometimes would stand there a lot but it was great to be able to mingle with the public and meet all kinds of people and just being there to hang out free stuff was a time of my life!

how freakin cool! i would love to intern there. do you think you will work for their radio group when you graduate?
It was pretty awesome, such a great experience. That would be amazing to work for their radio group. I might try to because the environment was something that I would enjoy everyday. But we'll see, maybe something better will come along. Thanks for the comment! :)
